Questions
The ones people actually ask
Is there a setup fee?
Not on the standard deal. The build is $0 down and the first year is a twelve-month term, then it goes month to month. If you would rather not commit to a year, month to month is available with a one-time setup fee instead. That fee is four times the monthly, so $399 on Starter and more on the larger plans. Same site either way.
Is anything else due when we start?
Usually nothing, and your first payment is the day the site goes live. The one thing that sometimes carries a one-time cost is a professional email address at your own domain, like you@yourbusiness.com: setting that up and making sure it lands in inboxes is real work, so I quote it in writing before anything starts. Moving a domain you already own over to me is free.
Do I own my website?
Your domain, your content and your photos are yours the whole time, and they stay yours if you leave. The monthly fee covers the design, the hosting and the ongoing work. If you cancel you get a working copy of your site and your domain moves with you.
Can I cancel?
Yes, with thirty days notice, either of us. If you cancel inside the first twelve months you square up the lesser of the setup fee you skipped or the months left on the term. On Starter that means month eleven costs you $99 rather than the full $399. After the first year there is nothing owed in either direction.
What counts as a small change?
Hours, prices, text, swapping photos. The everyday things. You email me and I get on it - you are writing to the person who built the site, not a support queue. Your plan comes with a set number of pages and I keep those current for you. Anything genuinely bigger - a brand-new page beyond your plan, a redesign, a new feature like online booking or a store - I quote you a flat price in writing before I start. I do not bill by the hour.
How long until it is live?
Quickly, and you will always know where it stands. Once your photos and details are in, the build itself moves fast - that part is mine and I do not sit on it. Pulling the photos together is usually the longest bit, so I will tell you exactly what I need and help you work out what you already have. Every business is different, so rather than guess at a date now, I would sooner give you a real one as soon as I have seen what we are starting with.
Can you get me to the top of Google?
Nobody honest will promise you a ranking, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. What I can do is build the site the way Google expects, set up your Google Business Profile and Search Console, and make sure your name, address and phone number match everywhere. For a local business that listing is most of the game.
I already have a website.
Then I can take it over. Usually that means a new site on your existing domain, moved carefully so your email keeps working, which is the part most people get wrong. Bring whoever has your domain login to the first conversation.
What if I need something on a Saturday?
I work Monday to Friday. Anything you send over the weekend I pick up first thing Monday. If your site is actually down, that is different, and there is an emergency line for it.
Do I have to pay for things like online ordering?
Sometimes, and you pay the provider directly rather than through me. Ordering, booking and payment platforms charge their own fees, and I would rather connect you to a good one than mark it up. I will always tell you the cost in writing before anything gets set up.
Do you do AI, or just websites?
Both, and the AI is matched to your business rather than bolted on for show. Sometimes that is an off-the-shelf tool that saves you an hour a day; sometimes it is something custom, built around your exact workflow like quoting or scheduling. I only point you at what actually helps, and anything beyond the website gets a flat price in writing before I start.
Do you only work on the Grand Strand?
No. The Grand Strand is home and where most of my clients are, but the work travels. I build and run sites for businesses anywhere in the country, over email, and it works just as well. Being local only means I can also come see you in person, which I like doing when I can.
Is there a discount for paying up front?
Yes. Pay for a year up front and you get a month free, so eleven months buys twelve.
