Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2, 2026
This policy explains what Widget Weasel LLC (“Widget Weasel”), a limited liability company formed in South Carolina, collects through this website, what it does with it, and how to get it back or get it deleted. By using this site you agree to it.
What is collected
Widget Weasel collects what you type into the contact form: your name, business name, email address, phone number, and the details of your project. Those are used to answer you, prepare a quote, do the work, invoice for it, and keep records of the engagement.
The hosting provider records standard request information, including your IP address and the pages you requested, which is used to serve the site, detect security incidents, and debug errors.
Who it is shared with
Widget Weasel does not sell your personal information and does not share it for advertising. It reaches only the service providers needed to operate: the form processor that delivers contact-form submissions, the email provider, the hosting and security provider, and, if you become a paying client, the payment processor. Each is bound to protect it and to use it only to provide that service. Information may also be disclosed to government or law enforcement when required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Widget Weasel, its clients, or the public.
Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of data a website stores on your device through your browser. This site has Google Analytics enabled, so it sets cookies and shares limited usage data with Google to measure traffic. Google’s handling of that data is governed by its own policies, and you can opt out with Google’s browser add-on. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
Payments
Widget Weasel does not store card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account details. Subscription payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe’s own terms, and Stripe’s handling of your payment information is governed by its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. Card details are entered with Stripe and stored by Stripe, not here.
Client sites
This policy covers this website. Each client website Widget Weasel builds has its own privacy policy, and the business that owns that site is the data controller for its visitors’ information. Widget Weasel acts as a service provider to that business. If you submitted something to a client’s site, contact that business first; Widget Weasel will help them action it.
Children’s privacy
This site is directed to businesses and adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and Widget Weasel does not knowingly collect, use, or share personal information from children under 13. If Widget Weasel learns it has collected such information, it will be deleted promptly. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 has provided personal information can write to info (at) widgetweasel.com; the information will be deleted, any service provider that received it will be directed to delete it, and the deletion will be completed within 30 days of the request being confirmed.
Marketing emails
Any commercial or promotional email includes an unsubscribe option. To opt out, use that link or write to info (at) widgetweasel.com; requests are processed within 10 business days. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about your enquiry, your project, or your invoices.
Do Not Track
Do Not Track (“DNT”) is a browser preference that tells websites you do not want to be tracked. This site does not respond to DNT signals. It also does not track you across other websites, which is the thing DNT exists to prevent.
How long it is kept, and your choices
Contact-form submissions are kept for as long as needed to respond, to provide services, and to keep business records, and are then deleted. Records connected to a signed agreement are kept for as long as the law and ordinary accounting practice require.
To ask what information is held about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, write to info (at) widgetweasel.com. Verified requests are answered within 30 days.
How it is protected
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and held with reputable providers. No system is perfectly secure, and Widget Weasel does not claim otherwise, which is also why the contact form should not be used for sensitive personal information. If something needs to be private, ask and a better route will be arranged.
California residents
The sections above identify the categories of personal information collected through this site and the categories of third parties it is shared with. A California resident may ask what personal information is held and ask for it to be corrected, updated, or deleted, by writing to info (at) widgetweasel.com; verified requests are answered within 30 days. Widget Weasel does not sell personal information, does not authorise third parties to collect information about your activities across other websites, and does not respond to Do Not Track signals, as stated above. Material changes are notified by posting the updated policy here, and the “Last updated” date shows when it last changed.
Changes
This policy may be amended at any time. Changes are notified by posting the updated policy to this page, and the date at the top shows the most recent revision.
