Auger Boring
Jacked steel casing on grade, the standard for rail and highway crossings.
How it works
The short version
A track-mounted machine jacks steel casing forward while an auger removes spoil through it. It is the method most rail carriers and state DOTs name in their own crossing standards, because the casing goes in on a straight line at a controlled grade and the surface above never moves.

Those are the numbers we will put our name to on a bid. If your crossing is longer, deeper or wider than what is listed, say so - sometimes the answer is a different method, and sometimes it is a straight no. Both are more useful than a number we cannot hit.
